Danfoss Launches BIM Tool to Unlock HVAC Industry Potential

Danfoss is excited to announce the launch of brand-new BIM Tool, a software service solution that enables customers and stakeholders to harness Building Information Modeling (BIM) to improve project efficiency and collaboration.

BIM digitizes the design, construction, and operation of buildings and HVAC projects, allowing users to create virtual models containing all essential information about a building, from architectural plans to MEP systems. By integrating the BIM Tool into their workflows, HVAC professionals can benefit from:
  • Simplified Collaboration: Utilizing Danfoss' latest BIM models enhances communication and coordination among teams and stakeholders.
  • Increased Efficiency: Accurate BIM models from Danfoss automate design tasks and optimize project planning, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
  • Informed Decision-Making: Access to product data improves building performance analysis, enabling optimized energy consumption and well-informed decisions.
  • Risk Mitigation: Digital twins of products identify issues early, minimizing rework and construction delays.
The Danfoss BIM Tool was developed in collaboration with experienced customers and refined through extensive beta testing. It includes the majority of HVAC product portfolio and will be regularly expanded. To meet the preferences of MEP designers, popular BIM files for "mounting products," such as valves and actuators, have also been added to a comprehensive accessories overview.

The BIM Tool offers two practical application options:

1. Plug-in Solution for Revit Users:
   - Add the BIM Tool to your Revit environment.
   - Find Danfoss products directly in Revit.
   - Drag and drop products into your BIM project file.
   - Intelligent filters between BIM Tool and Revit.
   - Generate a Danfoss bill of materials with one click.
   - Exclusively for Revit software users.

2. Stand-Alone Solution for All Users:
   - Easily search for Danfoss products in the tool.
   - Select the preferred or required product specification.
   - Download the CAD/BIM file and/or the corresponding technical datasheet.
   - Accessible without the need for special software.

Key Benefits of the Danfoss BIM Tool:

  • Comprehensive Product Library: Includes the majority of the Danfoss product portfolio, ensuring you find the products you need.
  • Convenient Handling: The intuitive user interface makes finding and downloading BIM files and technical datasheets easy.
  • Revit Integration: The plug-in solution for Revit users provides seamless integration with the world’s most popular BIM software.
  • Regular Updates: The BIM Tool is regularly updated with new products and features.
The new BIM Tool signifies Danfoss' commitment to advancing HVAC industry standards and supporting professionals in achieving greater project success through enhanced digital tools.
