Danfoss has inaugurated a new 7,634 m² manufacturing facility in Sofia, Bulgaria, marking a strategic expansion of its regional operations. The move represents a significant investment aimed at scaling production and advancing the company’s commitment to energy-efficient technologies.
Operating in Bulgaria since 2000, Danfoss has relocated to the larger site to enhance its manufacturing footprint in line with its LEAP 2030 strategy. The facility includes 6,000 m² of production and warehouse space and 1,634 m² dedicated to office and social areas.
During the opening ceremony in September 2025, Kristian Strand, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions, stated: “The opening of our new plant in Sofia is a testament to our continued commitment to invest in strategic growth markets, innovative technologies, as well as a strong, agile regional manufacturing footprint in line with our new LEAP 2030 strategy.”
Key products to be manufactured at the new site include actuators, valves, and mixing shunts. Jing Jorgensen, Vice President, Building Solutions, HydronicS, Danfoss Climate Solutions, emphasized the enhanced capabilities of the facility: “This isn’t just a bigger building. This is a leap forward in capacity, efficiency, and quality.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by members of the Danfoss Board of Directors, local officials, and the Danish Ambassador to Bulgaria.
“This move is not just a physical relocation. It’s a powerful step forward in our commitment to a better future,” added Plamen Tsvetkov, Director of Operations Sofia at Danfoss.
