DSI Dantech carries out strategic divestment of plate freezing handling equipment

Due to strategic prioritization, DSI Dantech will no longer produce plate freezing handling equipment inhouse. Instead, the company will co-operate with a good and well-known partner to continue delivering complete plate freezing solutions.

Danish producer of mechanical, cryogenic, and plate freezing solutions DSI Dantech, has carried out a strategic divestment of the company’s plate freezing handling division. As of February 1, 2024, Erlinord takes over most of the handling activities in Vejle, Denmark. Including machinery, order book, and selected employees from the DSI Dantech facility.

The two companies will work closely together to continue delivering plate freezing solutions with all handling equipment included. DSI Dantech will produce plate freezers incl. automation for V16, inlet/outlet for HS and HS Flex, while Erlinord will supply any other handling equipment.

Back to the starting point

Erlinord was set up in 1970 and produced handling equipment until becoming part of DSI Dantech in 2018. As such, the organization of work is not new to any of the companies.

Thomas Ulldahl Jørgensen, CEO of Erlinord, says:
“During the next months, we will restart Erlinord, the company my grandfather founded in 1970. And even though these last six years with DSI Dantech have been good, I am also proud and excited about reviving our old company. I am grateful for the time with DSI Dantech, and I look much forward to continue our co-operation to deliver complete freezing solutions of the very best quality”.

Erlinord will operate from their old location on Tysklandsvej in Vejle, while DSI Dantech will continue to operate from Ferrarivej in Vejle.

A strategic divestment

For DSI Dantech, the decision to divest plate freezing handling activities is part of a broader initiative to standardize and focus the company’s operations.

Søren Overgaard, CEO of DSI Dantech explains:
“The divestment of our handling business is part of our strategy to strengthen our core business. We are very happy that the former owners now resume responsibility of Erlinord and thereby remains a strong partner for DSI Dantech. At DSI Dantech, we will continue to serve our markets and customers with the most appropriate solution for their needs, and for plate freezing handling it will be in cooperation with Erlinord”.

As such, the strategic realignment emphasizes DSI Dantech’s commitment to sustainable growth and long-term success and will not affect other branches and deliveries.
