ebm-papst Completes Second Construction Phase

The ebm-papst Group, world market leader for fans and motors (€1.9 billion revenue/14,000 employees) whose headquarters is in Mulfingen, has completed the second construction phase of its production facility (€15 million investment) in the St. Georgen-Hagenmoos commercial zone. After a construction phase of approximately 16 months, the facility was inaugurated as part of two company anniversary celebrations. On a total area of 15,000 m², the technology leader will produce thousands of motors and electronic assemblies for industrial drive engineering. The expansion also created space for Logistics and Administration. “The fact that each of our investments remains local is an expression of our commitment to both the region and Germany,” said Stefan Brandl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ebm-papst Group. “With the factory expansion, we are increasing the production capacity we require for our Automotive and Drive Engineering divisions.” The new building’s highlight is a modern energy concept that seamlessly follows the environmental and sustainability goals that have guided ebm-papst for years. For example, two ice storages with a total volumetric capacity of 500 m³ are the central sources of heat and cold. This concept achieves carbon savings of 63% compared to conventional energy concepts. Seventy-five years ago, innovative inventor Hermann Papst founded the Papst company, which became one of the most important motor manufacturers for the HiFi and office devices sectors. Since 1992 – for 25 years – ebm-papst St. Georgen has been an important pillar of the ebm-papst Group.
