ECOOLTEC Expands Sales Team to Meet Rising Demand for Natural Refrigerant Units

ECOOLTEC Grosskopf GmbH has appointed Philipp Kaiser as Sales Manager to support growing demand for its environmentally friendly transport refrigeration systems. Initially responsible for fleet customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Kaiser will later contribute to international sales efforts.

The company cites a sharp rise in interest in its all-electric refrigeration units, which use only natural refrigerants. Kaiser brings over 17 years of experience in the commercial vehicle sector, including leadership roles in sales and quality management at major international automotive suppliers. He will work alongside Matthias Kiefer, Sales Leader Central Europe.

ECOOLTEC manufactures transport refrigeration systems designed for heavy commercial vehicles. Unlike conventional diesel-driven units, ECOOLTEC’s machines run purely on electric power—either via the truck’s alternator, an onboard battery, or a separate power alternator. This setup eliminates local pollutant and CO2 emissions during battery operation and reduces emissions by up to 98% when driven via alternator.

The systems use natural refrigerants with Global Warming Potential (GWP) values as low as 1 and 3, a significant improvement over commonly used HFCs like R452A and R410A, which have GWP values around 2,000. These hydrocarbons also offer higher energy efficiency, allowing ECOOLTEC systems to consume 60–80% less energy than conventional diesel-powered units while maintaining high cooling capacity. This makes them particularly suited for temperature-sensitive logistics such as food distribution.

"I am fascinated by ECOOLTEC's unique and particularly sustainable technology and its pioneering role," said Philipp Kaiser. "With my sales expertise, I would like to win new customers for the company, contribute to its further growth, and improve the sustainability of temperature-controlled transport even further."
