ENGIE Refrigeration receives major order from data centre industry

Data centres are part of the infrastructure crucial to our modern society, which is why the requirements for the generation and supply of refrigeration are extremely high. As a long-term partner for data centres around the world, ENGIE Refrigeration GmbH has extensive expertise in the refrigeration technology required by this highly sensitive field. Now the heat and refrigeration specialist from Lindau on Lake Constance, Germany, has received a major order: NTT Ltd’s Global Data Centers Division (formerly e-shelter) is a long-term customer and has ordered another twelve QUANTUM chillers. All in all, that means this customer will be running more than 100 chiller models from ENGIE Refrigeration at various European locations in future.

Complete reliability is the top priority for IT buildings and data centres. Thanks to their special properties, chillers from ENGIE Refrigeration absolutely guarantee this reliability. Our customer NTT – one of the largest data centre operators in the world – is fully aware of this. The company has been relying on products and services provided by the refrigeration and heating specialist from Lindau for many years and has now placed another major order. It comprises twelve water-cooled QUANTUM chillers, all of which had been delivered by the end of 2020 and will now be operated at a site in Germany. This is the continuation of an extremely successful partnership. In recent years, the data centre operator has purchased more than 100 chillers from ENGIE Refrigeration, which are responsible for optimum refrigeration in buildings in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands – to the full satisfaction of the customer. These chillers are very powerful, with a total refrigeration capacity of more than 100,000 kilowatts.
