On 20 June, EPEE & CoolingEU hosted a side event in the context of the European Commission’s annual Sustainable Energy Week.
It was an opportunity for participants to address the cooling sector’s energy transition challenges in research, technology roll-out and integrated system design.Didier Coulomb (IIR) opened the event with a keynote speech explaining the importance of the cooling sector in citizen’s everyday lives, as well at its growing global demand, especially in the current global warming context.Participants were, therefore, invited to debate selected topics in small groups, on several themes: closing technological gaps through research and innovation;encouraging global roll-out of the most efficient technologies; fostering integrated system design. The topics were presented by table hosts: Oliver Jung (EHPA), Jonas Loholm Hamann (GFCCC), and Susanne Tull (Danfoss).Following the fruitful discussions, Andrea Voigt (EPEE) invited the table hosts, as well as two other speakers, Julie Hanson (GCCA) and Irene di Padua (Solar Heat Europe), to summarize the outcomes of the discussions.
