Eurovent IT Cooling Task Force Appoints Chair and Vice-Chair

New leadership to steer data centre cooling strategy in Europe.

The Eurovent Task Force ‘IT Cooling’ (TF-ITC) has appointed its first Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Enrico Boscaro, Group Marketing Manager at CAREL, will serve as Chair, while Mario Scattolin, Global Compliance Director at Vertiv, will take on the Vice-Chair role. Both will serve two-year terms.

Boscaro brings more than 25 years of HVACR experience and a long-standing involvement in Eurovent. In his new role, he will guide TF-ITC’s strategic direction, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability in data centre cooling. Scattolin contributes broad expertise in IT cooling and regulatory compliance across European and global markets.

TF-ITC was launched in December 2024 to support Eurovent members with insights on technological and regulatory developments in the data centre cooling sector. The group is open to all Eurovent members and aims to play a key role in shaping future EU regulations for IT cooling systems.

“The data centre industry is using a lot of energy, but from a global perspective it is providing technologies, from video conferencing to AI, that might result in global energy savings,” said Enrico Boscaro. “New technologies and new EU regulations are creating new challenges, but I am sure this group... is willing to lead the way... to guarantee the best sustainability both from the environmental and the economic point of view.”

Mario Scattolin added: “Our Task Force is at the forefront of providing any useful information for defining the regulatory framework that will govern IT cooling products in Europe. We are committed to ensuring that these technologies not only meet rigorous safety standards but also improve the competitiveness of the sector and strengthen European energy autonomy.”
