Eurovent Middle East announces new Board

During its Annual Meeting on 02 May 2024, members of the region’s leading HVACR Association elected Mr Andrea Cavalet (General Manager, Epta Middle East), as President, supported by Mr Morten Schmelzer (Head of Group Public Affairs, Systemair) as Vice-President. The new Board of Directors brings refreshed energy as the Association prepares for another prolific year of activities.

The new Board of Directors further consists of (in alphabetical order):

Mr Pieter Jan Dewulf (General Manager, Baltimore Aircoil Middle East)
Mr Marco Duarte (General Manager, ebm-Papst Middle East)
Mr Dani Elamana (Technical Director, Camfil Middle East)
Mr Benjamin Görge (Sales Director, robatherm)
Mr Fred Penhall (General Manager, Carel Middle East)
Mr Srinivasan Rangan (Senior Director Engineering, Taqeef)
Mr Francesco Scuderi (Borne Board Member, Eurovent Association)
Ms Lubna Shaikh (Senior Manager - Business Development, Trosten)
This year’s election sees the addition of the first female Board member, Ms Shaikh, which attests to the Association’s commitment to recognising women in the industry. Eurovent Middle East members approved an updated working plan, which includes further initiatives in education and awareness raising, a stronger focus on the refrigerant transition in light of the expected ratification of the Kigali Amendment by GCC countries and strategic partnerships with regional organisations active in the field of capacity building.

Mr Andrea Cavalet, the newly elected President of Eurovent Middle East, states: “It is a great honour for me to be appointed as President of this distinguished Association by my fellow members. Following in the footsteps of Brian Suggitt and Tariq Al Ghussein in this position is a real challenge. We have made significant steps forward over the past years and I am proud take our joint initiative forward in the coming two years. The focus of my tenure will be on sustainability, energy efficiency, education and training through our HVACR Leadership Academy, as well as extending our presence and activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

Mr Markus Lattner, Managing Director of Eurovent Middle East, adds, “Mr Cavalet’s appointment is a true example of the diverse and democratic nature of our association. The first President came from a ventilation background, the second from an air-conditioning background, and Mr Cavalet provides a commercial refrigeration background. This shows that within Eurovent Middle East, all segments are represented and treated equally. We are looking forward to expanding our activities further under his leadership, and especially to position our #upskilling initiative as the overarching theme for the coming years!”
