Eurovent WG-DIGI elects Siemens manager Tianyun Gao as Chairperson

Eurovent’s newly established Working Group ‘Digital HVACR’ (WG-DIGI) has elected Tianyun Gao, Global Product Manager at Siemens, as Chairperson, and Salvatore Cataldi as Vice-Chairperson. The appointments follow the official launch of the Working Group, which focuses on digitalisation, cybersecurity, and smart control systems in the HVACR sector.

WG-DIGI brings together manufacturers, technology providers, and industry experts to address challenges related to Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS), connected building technologies, cybersecurity, interoperability, and the integration of intelligent control systems.

The Working Group was formally introduced during its kick-off meeting in Brussels on 03 March 2026. Participants discussed regulatory developments, emerging digital trends, and the future of smart HVACR solutions.

As Chairperson, Gao will lead the group’s strategic direction, facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, and guide discussions on technical, regulatory, and innovation-related topics. Her background includes building automation, energy efficiency, and HVACR systems, as well as involvement in multiple Eurovent activities and industry initiatives.

Working alongside Gao, Cataldi will help guide the group’s direction and support discussions on digital challenges, regulatory shifts, Building Automation and Control Systems, connectivity, and security in HVACR systems. His appointment reflects his engagement with digital transformation and cybersecurity, as well as his role in supporting collaboration between diverse stakeholders.
