Filip Konieczny new chairman of Product Group ‘Rooftop Units’

Eurovent’s recently launched Product Group ‘Rooftop Units’ (PG-RT) has elected its first Chairman and Vice-Chairman during its second meeting on 16 November 2020. The Group’s Chairman is Mr Filip Konieczny (Ventilation and Air Conditioning Manager / Export Technical Specialist at FLOWAIR). He will be supported by the PG-RT Vice-Chairman Mr Alberto Bellù (Product Manager Rooftop & Air Handling Units at Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A.).

The newly established Product Group ‘Rooftop Units’ aims to complement the existing range and open up possibilities for Eurovent members to become more active in this specific manufacturing field within the Association. Rooftop units are covered by Regulation (EU) 2016/2281 with regard to Ecodesign requirements for air heating products, cooling products, high temperature process chillers and fan coil units. In light of the upcoming revision of this Regulation, PG-RT was set up on request of Eurovent members.

The Secretariat of this Product Group is provided by Mr Francesco Scuderi. He is joined by Mr Filip Konieczny of FLOWAIR as Chairman and Mr Alberto Bellù of Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. as Vice-Chairman, who have been both elected during the Group’s recent half-day online session.

Mr Filip Konieczny, first-ever Chairman of PG-RT, said: “It is important to increase the awareness of the European market about the advantages and application purposes of Rooftop Units. I believe a good way to start is to accompany the revision process of the Regulation (EU) 2016/2281. I am humbled by the trust my industry colleagues put in my hands and look forward to working on this, and to developing new initiatives together.”

The next meeting of PG-RT will take place on Wednesday, 03 February 2021 and will be held virtually. Participants can already register via the Eurovent Extranet, where the preparatory documents will timely become available.
