Gandon Transports, a leading French refrigerated transporter, has selected Carrier Transicold’s Vector and Pulsor units with E-Drive™ all-electric technology to transport temperature-critical pharmaceutical products throughout Europe. These units complete their specialized fleet, which is equipped with 100 percent Carrier Transicold refrigeration equipment, including 80 Vector 1950 units for trailers and 22 Pulsor units for small delivery vehicles. Carrier Transicold, which operates in France as Carrier Transicold France, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Gandon Transports, based in France, is a 400-strong distribution fleet that specializes in temperature-controlled transport dedicated to pharmaceuticals, health products and printed documents. The Vector and Pulsor units are built around Carrier Transicold’s patented E-Drive all-electric technology, which can reduce refrigerant leak rates by up to 55 percent versus conventional systems using standard technology, thereby significantly cutting CO2 emissions. The E-Drive technology also removes a number of serviceable parts from the unit, substantially reducing maintenance and downtime and helping to deliver precise temperature control of up to +/- 0.8 degrees Celsius.
