The Heat Pump Association (HPA) has announced the election of Damon Blakemore, owner of Blakemore Renewables, as its first-ever Installer Representative. The new role is aimed at strengthening installer engagement and shaping the HPA’s work based on direct input from professionals in the field.
Blakemore was elected by HPA Installer member organisations and will serve a two-year term. He will work with the HPA team to gather insights from its installer membership, which has grown by over 340% since the association partnered with MCS. His role includes identifying key challenges and opportunities faced by installers and contributing to future planning in the UK heat pump sector.
The creation of this position follows the 2024 relaunch of the HPA’s Installer Membership and its collaboration with MCS, which provides free HPA Installer membership to MCS Certified Heat Pump Businesses.
“I’m honoured to take on this role and represent the dedicated professionals who are driving the heat pump revolution on the ground,” said Damon Blakemore, Installer Representative and Owner of Blakemore Renewables. “Installers are at the heart of the transition to low-carbon heating, and I’m looking forward to bringing their perspectives to the forefront of the HPA and industry discussions.”
Craig Dolan, Chair of the Heat Pump Association, added: “This initiative helps to ensure that heat pump installer voices are not only heard but actively shape our priorities and policy positions. It’s a vital step in building a stronger, more connected HPA and industry.”
The HPA thanked participants in the election process and noted that further opportunities for installer engagement will be introduced in the coming months.
