Hussmann Recognized with Lincoln Tech Pride in Partnership Award

Lincoln Tech, a national leader in skilled trades career training, recently recognized Hussmann with its Pride in Partnership Award. Hussmann and Lincoln Tech have collaborated since 2018 on TechX – an advanced refrigeration curriculum and training center located on the Lincoln campus in Grand Prairie, Texas.

"The HVAC/R industry has spoken for years about the need for candidates with specific technical skills geared towards working with commercial refrigeration equipment," said Scott Shaw, Lincoln Tech president and chief operation officer. "Hussmann is an employer which recognizes the value in hands-on training and has promised better futures to dozens of Lincoln graduates."

"At Hussmann, our promise is to 'continuously provide the most customer-focused solutions in the food retailing industry.' In order to deliver on this promise, we needed a program aimed at delivering new talent to our industry," said Ashley Turner, Hussmann vice president of branch operations.

The award was presented during the program’s graduation ceremony in March 2020. Since its inception, 106 students have graduated from TechX. Applicants accepted into the program come from Lincoln Tech campuses across the country and are relocated to Grand Prairie for the two-month training. All students who successfully complete the program are offered positions with Hussmann as technicians.
