IOR membership expansion

Support the technical development of someone you know by encouraging them to join the IOR

With public meetings and work place attendance limited at the moment and yet so many people still needing to access technical information, on line training and networking, the IOR is making some temporary changes to our membership processes to make it easier and quicker for people to join.

IOR is inviting current members to identify someone they work with who would benefit from membership – to allow them to access its comprehensive and reliable collection of online technical, education and training resources. IOR membership distinguishes people in the industry who want to learn more and refresh their technical knowledge. For those new to the industry IOR now has a Membership Pathways mentoring scheme, which pairs them with an experienced member who can help them to plan and guide their professional development so that they have a clear route to get them from Associate (or Pre-Associate) level to full Member grade recognition.

As part of this initiative, the IOR has temporarily reduced the joining fee from £49 to £20 for everyone. For those experiencing financial difficulty, there will be a membership payment holiday for three months. Anyone who joins online will get access to the online library and news whilst their membership application is being processed and can start getting involved in the IOR network straight away.

Our members tell us that the IOR has helped their career development, so we want them to make contact with someone who is ambitious, career-focused and thirsty for knowledge to invite them to join now by sharing the link www.ior.org.uk/membership which explains the various grades and benefits available or suggesting they watch our webinar about how to join at www.ior.org.uk/membership/benefits-of-membership.
