Italy’s Frascold marks 90 years and outlines ‘Pulsing Innovation’

Frascold said it is marking its 90th anniversary in 2026, positioning the milestone as part of its long-term industrial development in the HVAC&R sector and its continued international presence. The company also introduced the theme “90 Years of Pulsing Innovation” to describe how it frames innovation across products, processes and organisation.

The company traced its origins to 1936, when founder Giuseppe Fraschini established the first workshop “Giuseppe Fraschini e figlio s.n.c.” in Milan together with his father, Carlo Fraschini. Frascold said this early focus on balance, proportion and quality helped shape its design approach and manufacturing over time, and that later generations developed a more structured industrial vision.

Frascold stated that, between the 1970s and 1980s, Innocente Fraschini promoted the introduction of semi-hermetic compressors and reinforced R&D laboratories. It added that its compressor range has evolved from early open-type compressors to current semi-hermetic reciprocating and screw models, including solutions for natural refrigerants such as CO2 and R290, as well as ATEX-certified applications.

The company said laboratories and testing areas are central to development, citing CO2 testing and dedicated R290 and ATEX test benches, with each solution undergoing performance, safety and reliability checks. It also said it has introduced Lean Manufacturing principles to optimise workflows, reduce waste and support consistent quality, and noted that its updated visual identity uses a pattern inspired by a technological wave to represent continuous movement.

Maria Teresa Fraschini, President of Frascold, said: “Pulsing Innovation means placing people and expertise at the core, transforming every technological challenge into growth opportunities for our customers.” Frascold also said family ownership is now in its fourth generation, linking continuity to the transfer of skills and experience across technicians, engineers, employees and partners.
