During the ribbon cutting ceremonies, Al Young, vice president of field services and installation operations for Johnson Controls Building Solutions North America, and Scott Shaw, CEO at Lincoln Tech, spoke about the importance of technical training and organizations in the technical field playing a role in developing and nurturing the next generation workforce with partnerships like this.
The partnership between Johnson Controls and Lincoln Tech began in 2018 with a goal of bridging the technical skills gap and developing a program that provides hands-on training in local markets to empower students with the skills necessary to enter the technical workforce and build a fulfilling career in today’s changing marketplace. Graduates of the training programs have the opportunity to pursue careers with Johnson Controls to help deliver smart, safe, sustainable buildings and cities around the world.
In total, Johnson Controls is sponsoring 10 Lincoln Tech campuses across the country. In 2018, the Indianapolis, Indiana, and Melrose Park, Illinois classrooms were launched and, in the remainder of 2019, the Marietta, Georgia; Denver, Colorado; and Mahwah and Union, New Jersey campuses will be revealed.
