Johnson Controls has named Chris Scalia as executive vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO), reporting directly to CEO Joakim Weidemanis and joining the company’s executive committee.
Scalia brings over 20 years of experience from The Hershey Company, where he most recently held dual roles as Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Transformation Officer. During his tenure, he led enterprise-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing top-line growth, productivity, and technology adoption. His leadership was instrumental in reshaping Hershey’s portfolio and operations as part of its transformation into a snacking-focused business.
At Johnson Controls, Scalia is expected to apply his expertise in team building, continuous improvement, and lean principles to support the implementation of the company’s growth business system.
"Chris brings a rare combination of people and culture strategy, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to building excellent teams," said Joakim Weidemanis, CEO of Johnson Controls. "As we continue to transform Johnson Controls into a growth-focused, customer-centric powerhouse, Chris's leadership will be critical in shaping a world-class employee experience."
Scalia succeeds Marlon Sullivan, who will leave the company at the end of July and remain as an advisor for several months.
