Johnson Controls Boosts Efficiency and Sustainability at Paris Olympic Venues
Millions of fans heading to the Paris Olympics 2024 will experience smarter and more energy-efficient stadiums, thanks to Johnson Controls' latest technology.

Johnson Controls has integrated advanced building automation, HVAC, and fire suppression systems across eight Olympic venues. This initiative not only enhances safety and operational efficiency but also aligns with the International Olympic Committee's goal to cut the event's carbon footprint by 50%.

Key innovations include the installation of Johnson Controls' York 3.3 MW industrial chillers at the La Chapelle cooling plant in the Adidas Arena complex. This system meets the cooling needs of the Arena and its surrounding areas, contributing to the sustainability of one of the Olympic Games' flagship sites.

"Sustainable cooling technology is crucial to ensure optimal conditions in venues while minimizing environmental impact," said Marc Vandiepenbeeck, CFO and EMEALA President at Johnson Controls. "Chillers are significant energy consumers, and our technology helps reduce energy use, costs, and carbon footprint."

At a renowned tennis stadium, the Johnson Controls Metasys building automation system manages HVAC, lighting, and energy performance, offering real-time data for optimal efficiency and sustainability.

"We are honored to support these prestigious venues in achieving energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and superior building management," added Vandiepenbeeck. "Our expertise in smart stadiums makes us the partner of choice globally."

Johnson Controls continues to support operational efficiency and sustainability at venues worldwide, offering innovative technology through its OpenBlue digital platform and other smart building solutions.
