Keynote Jason Dorsey to Explore Generational Differences in the Cold Chain at IARW-WFLO Convention

The International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), Core Partners of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), will host the 126th IARW-WFLO Convention, April 22-25, 2017, at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, Calif. Focused on advancing cold chain warehousing and logistics, the 2017 Convention will look to the industry’s future with a keynote presentation exploring generational challenges in the cold chain, as well as discussions led by future industry leaders. Jason Dorsey, co-founder and chief strategy officer of the Center for Generational Kinetics, will discuss generational differences impacting leadership in the cold chain during his keynote address on Tuesday, April 25. As a best-selling author, acclaimed speaker, and millennials researcher, Dorsey has been featured on 60 Minutes, 20/20, The Today Show, and over 100 additional television interviews. His passion is solving generational challenges for organizations and leaders. Dorsey wrote his first best-selling book at age 18 and was awarded the Austin Under 40 Entrepreneur of the Year Award at age 25. At the IARW-WFLO Convention, Dorsey will discuss how businesses can grow stronger and see improvements moving forward by crossing the generational divide between leadership and employees. He will share data, case studies, and step-by-step actions to help drive communication, engagement, and recruiting. “Our industry places tremendous priority on developing talent and positioning the cold chain for a successful future,” GCCA President & CEO Corey Rosenbusch said. “We are very interested to learn new strategies from Jason as we work to transition the generational divide in the cold chain from a challenge to an opportunity.” Dorsey will be one of four keynote presenters at the Convention, which will feature a number of additional educational offerings. One of which is an innovative Learning Lounge, which focuses on fostering the next generation of industry talent. Four of the industry’s brightest young professionals will speak on Tuesday, April 25, as they compete for the GCCA NextGen Award, which recognizes future leaders from around the world. Recipients of the following industry awards will present:

  • Francois Smith, Sequence Logistics Tony Lewis Cold Store Operator Award – South Africa
  • Graeme Lee, Polarfresh Frank Vale Award – Australia
  • Cavan McKenna, XPO Logistics UK Young Manager of the Year – United Kingdom
The 126th IARW-WFLO Convention brings together executives of temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics companies and industry suppliers eager to advance the cold chain.
