Klas Forsström appointed new president and CEO of Munters Group

Munters Group AB (MTRS), a global leader in sustainable climate solutions for demanding industrial applications, announces the appointment of a new President and CEO. The Board of Directors has appointed Klas Forsström, currently President of Sandvik Machining Solutions, effective no later than mid-October 2019. 

In February of this year, Munters announced a new organization to better meet the demands of our customers and to increase value creation for shareholders. The new organization creates a simplified, leaner, more decentralized and performance oriented Munters. The new structure also allows Munters to better take advantage of resources and to increase both transparency and accountability.

Klas has the know-how and the leadership capabilities required to lead Munters in its ongoing transformation and towards increased profitability and growth”, says Magnus Lindquist, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Munters.

Klas Forsström is 51 years and is currently the President of Sandvik Machining Solutions Business area, a position he has held since 2017. Prior to that, he has for more than 20 years held different senior management positions at Sandvik, including positions such as President of Sandvik Hard Materials and Sandvik Coromant. Klas has a M.Sc. in Materials Physics and an MBA from Uppsala University as well as advanced management studies at INSEAD.

Johan Ek, the interim President and CEO of Munters since December 2018, will after handing over responsibilities to Klas Forsström remain in his current role as a member of the Board of Directors of Munters.
