LG highlights energy-efficient chillers for district cooling in the GCC

LG Electronics is expanding its presence in the Middle East's district cooling sector, offering advanced chiller technologies aimed at improving energy efficiency and operational performance across the GCC region.

With growing demand driven by rapid urbanization and extreme climate conditions, district cooling has become a key infrastructure component. LG is responding with solutions that aim to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact over the entire lifecycle of cooling systems.

The company’s portfolio includes the LG Inverter Scroll Chiller, designed for part-load efficiency. Its inverter-driven capacity control aligns cooling output with real-time demand, helping reduce energy use in varying load conditions. Its compact, modular design supports scalability and space optimization in district cooling networks.

For large-capacity systems, LG offers the Oil-Free Centrifugal Chiller. This unit features magnetic bearing technology that eliminates the need for lubricating oil, reduces mechanical losses, and contributes to lower maintenance and total cost of ownership.

According to LG, these technologies help district cooling operators improve seasonal efficiency and support carbon reduction targets through reliable, energy-saving performance.
