LG Electronics has signed a strategic partnership with Expo City Dubai to support the development of a next-generation smart city, strengthening the company’s business-to-government (B2G) presence in the Middle East.
The agreement was signed on November 19 by LG Electronics CEO William Cho and Ahmed Al Khatib, Chief Development and Delivery Officer of Expo City Dubai. This collaboration builds on prior engagements between the two parties, including LG’s supply of LED signage for Expo 2020 and a commitment to provide built-in home appliances for 3,000 homes currently under construction in the smart city.
As part of the project, LG will provide infrastructure solutions such as AI data center cooling and smart home systems integrated with its AI Home Hub platform. The company positions itself as a provider of “Space as a Service,” delivering space-optimized technologies for residential and industrial environments.
The agreement also aligns with discussions from the Korea–UAE Business Roundtable, where both governments emphasized cooperation in AI-driven service development and infrastructure.
LG aims to leverage this partnership to strengthen its presence across B2C, B2B, and B2G sectors in the region. The company has operated in the UAE for 30 years and oversees operations in 75 markets across the Middle East and Africa.
In September, LG signed a memorandum of understanding to supply cooling systems for a large-scale net-zero AI data center in Oxagon, Saudi Arabia. The project is part of the NEOM development and involves collaboration with ACWA Power, SHAKER Group, and DATAVOLT.
“With our differentiated HVAC technologies and AI Home Hub-based smart solutions, we are committed to contributing to sustainable growth in the Middle East,” said William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics. “We will accelerate efforts to capture new B2B and B2G opportunities with solutions built around each country’s future direction.”
