Maritime Geothermal expands facility in Canada with ACOA support

Maritime Geothermal Ltd. has announced a CAD 1.64 million [approx. USD 1.22 million] expansion of its production facility in New Brunswick, supported by funding from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). The 15,000-square-foot addition to the company’s Petitcodiac plant will increase the total facility size to 45,000 square feet.

The expansion is set to boost production of the company’s NORDIC brand of air-source and geothermal heat pumps. According to the company, the increased capacity will help meet growing demand for locally manufactured, energy-efficient HVAC systems in the housing sector.

“This expansion is about more than just square footage; it’s about responding to the urgent need for faster, more sustainable home construction,” said Jared Kaye, General Manager of Maritime Geothermal Ltd.

The project is expected to create new jobs and support the regional housing supply chain by enabling faster delivery of HVAC systems for residential construction. ACOA Minister Sean Fraser stated that the investment aims to help builders “reduce delays, and bring housing projects to completion more quickly.”
