Through its transport refrigeration division, Marshall Fleet Solutions has supplied the first production Thermo King SLXi-300 refrigeration system to be specified by a UK operator. The state of the art refrigeration system has been fitted to one of the latest Bizien 13.6m refrigerated trailers in the all-refrigerated trailer hire fleet at Oswestry-based company Cadwallader Ltd.
The single-compartment trailer is being used by Cadwallader as a demonstration unit for the Bizien trailer range for which they are exclusive UK distributors.
“Cadwallader has been a long-standing customer of Marshall Thermo King for many years now and we are extremely pleased that they chose the innovative SLXi-300 as the preferred refrigeration system for this demonstration trailer, as it will give their customers, and prospective customers, a first-hand opportunity to see the very latest in Thermo King transport refrigeration technology,” said George Ralph, managing director, Marshall Fleet Solutions.
Cadwallader operates a 350 strong all-refrigerated trailer hire fleet and this 2017 spec Bizien triple-axle trailer with the Thermo King SLXi-300 refrigeration system is currently being demonstrated to Cadwallader customers all over the UK.
According to Mark Pritchard, operations manager at Cadwallader Ltd, “We favour Thermo King refrigeration systems in our fleet and were really excited about the prospect of getting the newly launched SLXi into our fleet as soon as possible. With the help of Marshall Thermo King, our preferred suppliers of Thermo King products, we have been able to take the very first production SLXi unit in the UK.”

Launched originally at the IAA in Hanover last year, the Thermo King SLXi range of single- and multi-temperature trailer refrigeration systems are designed to answer today’s demands for fuel efficiency, intelligence, connectivity and sustainability.
The SLXi refrigeration system can deliver up to 20% fuel savings and features telematics as standard. It is the industry’s first fully telematics-enabled transport refrigerated trailer unit to include Bluetooth® connectivity as standard delivering full visibility of the unit and load condition using Thermo King’s new TK BlueBox communication device.
