Poorly estimated ventilation or air conditioning air flow can lead to overconsumption of energy as well as poor air quality. Testo provide the solution to allow the end customer to benefit from a system that is adjusted, balanced and tested, in order to comply with required regulations.

The testo 420 volume flow hood (or bolometer) allows commissioning or installation engineers to performing balancing and taking measurements on large air inlets and outlets and precisely adjusting their volume flow. Thanks to its internal air flow straightener, it’s extremely precise even when used with swirl type outlets and allows very reliable results to be obtained.

Another advantage of the testo 420 is the possibility of measuring flow velocity, along with the temperature and relative humidity of the air.

When working in large buildings with rooms of different volumes, the wide measuring range of the testo 420 allows measurements at varying points without changing the device.

In addition to its light weight, the mobile tripod with perfectly stable lifting system enables technicians to carry out their measurements on their own even on ceiling diffusers up to 5m high. The tilting and removable LCD screen of the testo 420 gives a simple operator interface. Smartphones can be used as a second screen or as a remote control thanks to a Bluetooth connection, which allows work in complete safety.

Finally, the last significant advantage, the small size of the foldable device which facilitates its easy transport to and from sites using the supplied trolly case with wheels.
