Mirai Intex Technology Powers Award-Winning Sustainable Cooling Solution

Mirai Intex’s air-based refrigeration technology has been integrated into the BioArc Ultra by Azenta Life Sciences, a system that recently won the Sustainability Scientists’ Choice Award 2025. The award, determined by industry professionals, recognizes innovations with a significant impact on sustainability and efficiency.

The BioArc Ultra is designed for -80°C automated sample storage, offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional freezer farms. With Mirai Intex’s refrigeration system, the unit achieves up to 75% lower energy consumption and 72% less floor space usage, while maintaining zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). The system accommodates up to 16 million samples, making it suitable for biobanking, vaccine research, and clinical applications.

Mirai Intex’s technology eliminates harmful refrigerants, requiring no replenishment, and contributes to lower operational costs and environmental impact. The collaboration with Azenta Life Sciences highlights a shift toward greener, more energy-efficient cooling solutions in scientific and medical fields.
