Mitsubishi Electric acquires Dutch HVAC firms for data center cooling

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has acquired the APAC and COMPAC groups in the Netherlands to strengthen its HVAC equipment sales, installation and maintenance capabilities in Europe’s data center cooling market. The transaction was completed on July 13 through its wholly owned subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A.

The acquisition covers all shares of both groups, including their operating companies involved in HVAC sales, installation and maintenance. APAC and COMPAC were headquartered in Utrecht Province.

Mitsubishi Electric plans to combine the groups’ installation and maintenance expertise with its existing product portfolio. The company expects this to support integrated equipment sales, installation and maintenance services and expand its data center cooling systems business across Europe.

Mitsubishi Electric has identified data center cooling systems as a key growth business. The company said European data center development is expanding beyond Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin into northern and southern regions.

According to Mitsubishi Electric, data center operators are increasingly seeking providers that can supply equipment, installation, maintenance and ongoing support for stable and reliable performance.
