Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US names Andrew Kelso CEO

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC (METUS) said Chief Executive Officer Mark Kuntz will retire effective March 31, 2026, and Chief Operating Officer Andrew Kelso will succeed him as CEO. Kuntz will remain in an advisory role during the transition. The company supplies ductless and ducted mini-split, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat pump, and air-conditioning systems.

Kuntz is retiring after 16 years with METUS. The company said his tenure included the first Target store installation of CITY MULTI VRF systems, the establishment of Kroger Co. as its first major national account, and the formation of the Mitsubishi Electric–Ingersoll Rand (Trane) joint venture in 2018 that established METUS.

METUS also said Kuntz led the Solutions Design Center to expand U.S.-focused engineering capabilities and initiated the METUS Business Operating System as part of a values-based LEAN transformation. The company added that he represented METUS on Capitol Hill on policies related to all-climate, variable-capacity heat pump technology, including federal rebate and tax credit programs, and worked with policymakers on the A2L refrigerant transition.

Kelso joined METUS in 2018 as CFO and became COO in 2022. “METUS is entering its next phase from a position of strength. Thanks to Mark’s leadership and the work of our team, we have the right strategy, capabilities, and culture in place to continue expanding our leadership in all-climate HVAC solutions,” said Kelso.
