Modern Technology and Environmentally-friendly Refrigerants in RIMI Panorama Store in Vilnius

Several major hypermarket format RIMI stores in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius have recently been remodeled. After the renovation, not only they are more spacious, beautifully laid out according to a new design concept, but also environmentally-friendly.

RIMI wants to leave the smallest possible carbon footprint with the refrigeration system. The renewed RIMI stores have installed the natural refrigerant CO2 cooling system to guarantee both energy savings and to ensure a reduction of their impact on the environment. The energy generated by the CO2 refrigeration system is used to generate electricity, to heat and cool the store premises, and to heat water.

To guarantee the quality and freshness of the products on display, RIMI has chosen FREOR as its refrigeration partner. The hypermarket is equipped with the modern FREOR freezers, refrigerated cabinets, and serve-overs that are up to today’s standards. For the 5777 square meters of the sales area (total area is 8390 square meters), FREOR has delivered more than 230 meters of refrigerated cabinets and freezers from the Green Wave CO2 line.

Equipment installed
Among the refrigerated cabinets that furnish the store are:

  • JUPITER, the vertical glass doors cabinet used to store meat products, dairy products, or packed vegetables.
  • JUPITER ROLL-IN, a special cabinet model for easy stocking of beverages on the pallets.
  • PLUTON SPACE, the semi-vertical cabinet, easily multiplexable into lines and islands, perfect for meat, fish, dairy products, and delicacies.
  • CALISTA, the vertical display cabinet with rows of mirrors dedicated to enhancing the display of fruit & vegetables.
  • HELLA, the freezer island used for selling frozen vegetables, berries, ice-creams, and other packed frozen food.
  • VEGA QB HG / LG, the serve-over counters line, perfect for the display of cheese, confectionery, and culinary products prepared by the retail chain.
  • VEGA QB H2, the self-service display counter for various pre-packed products, from fresh meat to delicacies.
  • VEGA QB HDV, the complementary serve-over counter for hot food.
