MOON-TECH has received the First Prize of the 2025 Science and Technology Progress Award from the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR) for its project on industrial heat pump systems. The award was announced during CAR’s annual conference held in Changsha, Hunan Province, from December 9 to 12, 2025.
The awarded project, titled “Key Components and System Integration Technology for Multi-Category, Large-Temperature-Lift Industrial Heat Pumps,” focuses on addressing the technical challenges of industrial heat pumps in demanding environments. These systems are used in sectors such as steel, petroleum, chemicals, power, pharmaceuticals, and dairy processing.
According to MOON-TECH, the project resulted in the development of multistage centrifugal heat pump compressors with large capacity and wide temperature range, as well as wide-condition screw and steam compressors. The company also advanced technologies for system integration and intelligent control. These innovations support the recovery of waste heat from temperatures as low as 25°C, the supply of hot water at 80–140°C, and the generation of steam at 1.0–3.6 barA.
The technologies have been implemented in various industrial applications, including waste heat recovery in the steel, petroleum, and chemical industries; steam and hot water supply in industrial parks; and heat-pump distillation systems in refining operations.
MOON-TECH CEO Zhao Baoguo attended the conference, which was held under the theme “Innovation for Quality, Green for Efficiency” and brought together over 1,200 participants from academia, industry, and government.
