Multi-user temperature-controlled pharmaceutical and food grade facility

Work is underway to convert part of GAC Samudera Logistics’ Cikarang distribution centre into a multi-user temperature-controlled pharmaceutical and food grade facility. The new facility, which is the first to be fully owned and operated by a third party logistics service provider in Indonesia, is expected to be operational by July 2017. Located within Lippo Cikarang, a flood-free industrial zone adjacent to Cikarang Dry Port, the facility will have a capacity of 20,000 pallet positions with a temperature range of 18 to 25°C. Fully-equippedThe facility will be equipped with single selective racking system and electrically operated equipment, and fitted with 200 lux LED lighting with an environmentally-friendly zoning feature. A suspended floor will help keep moisture and termites at bay. It will feature ample truck parking space, a drivers’ waiting room and an air-conditioned receiving doorway with a raised dock and moveable dock levellers to allow smooth loading and unloading activities. An air-conditioned re-packing area meeting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards adjacent to the main facility will support the Value Added Services. A dedicated sampling room will allow sampling to take place with no risk of contamination. A separate maintenance area, an ablution block and a staff canteen will complete the features of the fully-equipped facility, which will be protected with fire detection and fighting systems and uninterrupted power supply.
