The commercial vehicle industry will meet at the Busworld trade show to be held in Kortrijk, Belgium from October 16 - 21, 2015. ebm-papst will be introducing its complete product portfolio of fan solutions for bus air-conditioning systems at its booth (R44) in the "Rambla South" area.
The premium solution for Bus air-conditioning systems offers more functions and select features than the Basic model.
Air conditioning is a major issue in the commercial vehicle industry. The demand for especially designed fans in this segment is on the rise. In order to meet this demand, ebm papst will introduce a complete selection of axial and double centrifugal fans in GreenTech EC technology, both product lines are available for delivery. ebm-papst customers can now choose between a Basic and a Premium solution. With the Basic model, extras were left out on purpose, but without sacrificing reliability. If more functions and select features are desired, then the customer can select the three-phase Premium model, which was especially developed for the high-end commercial vehicle segment.
Integrated electronics enable all ebm-papst fans to be controlled efficiently. In addition, the brushless motors have a soft start function that prevents current spikes when switching the fan on, so that the electrical system is never overloaded at any one time. The EMC provisions required in the bus segment are not a problem either. For the Basic axial fan, a guard grille is also an optional feature that can be integrated without additions – in other words, without taking up extra installation space.
Basic or Premium fans are based on the tried-and-trusted brushless DC motors that are optimized for the typical air flow in commercial vehicles and buses. Both models also come equipped with a locked-rotor protection as a standard feature. The Premium fans additionally offer different derating functions, which adjust the fan's power consumption to the fan's environmental conditions at any time. Moreover, the Premium model meets the requirements for degree of protection IP 6K9K and even withstands the force of a high-pressure cleaner. Because all ebm-papst fans require less power in the overall commercial vehicle system, energy is saved, and costs are thereby also reduced.
ebm-papst specializes in customer-oriented development support and has a solution to any problem. To complete the program, the newest version of axial fans with airflow direction "A" (intake over the stator) will be unveiled at the Busworld trade show. This airflow direction represents a compact and powerful alternative to airflow direction "V" (intake over the rotor). This means that ebm-papst will also meet special customer requirements for air conditioner configurations that demand a different fan airflow direction.
