Phononic Achieves Energy Star Certification

Global greenhouse gas pollution is continuing to rise—and at an alarming pace. Companies are increasingly moving towards clean, renewable energy sources in an effort to effectively address global warming and reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere. While many are moving to make products compliant, we’ve been doing this for years with our line of compressor-free solid-state refrigeration that uses non-toxic refrigerants. And now, we’ve advanced our commitment to the environment by achieving ENERGY STAR certification in the Lab Grade Refrigerators and Freezers category. The certification of Evolve products proves that solid-state thermoelectric cooling is capable of achieving optimal refrigeration temperatures, while reducing energy and greenhouse gas emissions for high-performance refrigerators, a first of its kind. But it shouldn’t end there! The world is on track for dangerous climate change, and thermoelectric cooling is a solution that has proven to be more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective. In fact, Phononic was recognized as a Global Cleantech 100 company in 2015 and 2016 for delivering sustainable cooling and heating solutions, which you can read more about here. For background, ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that helps to identify and promote energy efficiency in products, homes and buildings across the U.S.
