Qvantum has inaugurated a new research and development lab at its factory in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, marking a key step in the company's strategy to scale heat pump production and accelerate the decarbonization of European cities.
The facility will serve as a testing ground for Qvantum's heat pump technologies, staffed by a team of engineers to ensure high performance and efficiency standards. According to the company, the new lab will support the development of its upcoming mass-production factory, which is planned to reach an annual capacity of over 300,000 heat pumps.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony included CEO Fredrik Rosenqvist, Head of R&D Helene Carlström, Head of the Lab László Jávorka, Federico Rosales, COO, and Péter Marozsán, Head of Product Development in Hungary. Members of the board, including Chairman Mats Leifland, also attended the event.
“This is an important first step in preparing for the launch of our mass-production factory,” said Federico Rosales, COO at Qvantum. “The establishment of this lab underscores our dedication to advancing technology and maintaining our leadership position in the industry.”
The R&D lab will enable comprehensive testing protocols, allowing Qvantum to fine-tune its products to meet both customer expectations and regulatory demands. It represents a critical element in the company's broader innovation roadmap.
“The opening of the R&D lab is a testament to our ongoing investment in technology and our commitment to sustainability,” said Mats Leifland, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “I am very excited about the future and look forward to the opportunities this facility will create for Qvantum as a key player in the heat pump industry.”
