Rosenbusch To Depart Global Cold Chain Alliance And Lead The Fertilizer Institute

The Global Cold Chain Alliance announced today that President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch will depart the association in February to serve as the President and CEO of The Fertilizer Institute. International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) Board Chairman Andrew B. Janson will chair a search committee to identify GCCA’s next leader.

“Words are inadequate to express our gratefulness and appreciation of Corey’s commitment and dedication not only to the organization but also the industry during his tenure with us,” Janson said. “The strategic vision Corey provided for the association will have an enduring impact on our companies and industry.”

Rosenbusch has been with GCCA for 14 years and took over as President in 2012. During his tenure:

  • The Global Cold Chain Alliance was created in 2006 as a bold initiative to unite under one brand and staff four partner organizations: the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA), the Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA), and the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO).
  • GCCA expanded its global footprint, opening offices is Brazil, Europe, India, Latin America, and South Africa. In addition, GCCA’s international membership and development services grew significantly.
  • GCCA adopted a business-outcome based strategic plan, which enabled the launch of new initiatives such as the Cold Chain Index, Energy Excellence, and Certified Cold Carrier.
  • The Cold Chain Expo and Conference was introduced to deliver the most valuable and comprehensive business-to-business networking event serving the cold chain industry.

“I am proud of what GCCA has accomplished during my 14 years with the association. We have seen increased recognition and understanding of cold chain’s importance in feeding families around the world,” Rosenbusch said. “Further, I am grateful to have made many friends and amazing memories — both of which will endure well after I transition to my new role.”

GCCA Chief Operating Officer Megan Costello has been named GCCA’s interim CEO beginning February 5, 2020, when Rosenbusch departs.
