Safe Monitoring Group acquires gas detection firm Duran Electronica

Safe Monitoring Group AB has completed the acquisition of Duran Electronica S.L., a Spanish manufacturer of gas detection systems. The transaction, which closed on June 3, 2025, gives Safe Monitoring Group full ownership of Duran.

Duran Electronica has over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing gas detection systems. Its products are used in applications such as underground car parks, tunnels, factories, laboratories, water-treatment plants, and facilities in the agriculture and food industries. The company also provides fire detection equipment, meteorological sensors, and EN54-compliant public address systems.

Following the acquisition, Duran will collaborate with other companies in the Safe Monitoring Group across functions including research and development, marketing, procurement, sales, and service. According to the companies, this integration will provide customers with a broader offering of products and services across various applications.

“We’re very pleased that Duran will be a part of Safe Monitoring Group and look forward to the expansion of both Duran as well as the group with other companies joining forces together,” said Olga Rodriguez de Trio and Victor Andrés, owners and CEOs of Duran.

“I have got to know Duran during the past years and I´m really impressed with their professional product and system offering in more than 50 countries,” said Alexander Larsson, CEO of Safe Monitoring Group. “Safe Monitoring Group will continue our expansion in new geographies and applications by organic growth and an ambitious acquisition agenda.”
