Schneider Electric Earns DOE Recognition for Energy Efficiency Projects

Lincoln plant HVAC upgrade and BAS standardization drive operational efficiency.

Schneider Electric has received two awards from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) at the Better Buildings, Better Plants Summit in Washington, D.C., recognizing the company’s leadership in energy efficiency and sustainable operations.

The company was honored with a Better Project Recognition for its HVAC electrification initiative at its Lincoln, Nebraska, manufacturing facility. The project involved modernizing the over 50-year-old plant by implementing a heat recovery system that captures and reuses waste heat, reducing energy consumption and enhancing sustainability.

Schneider Electric also received a Better Practice Recognition for its Building Automation System (BAS) Playbook. This initiative standardizes building management systems across its North American facilities to improve operational integration, analytics, and energy performance. The approach enables more efficient system deployment and streamlined communication across sites and partners.

“These recognitions reflect our commitment to lead by example in decarbonizing operations and promoting scalable energy efficiency solutions,” said Aamir Paul, President, North America Operations at Schneider Electric.

The awards follow Schneider Electric’s certification under NEMA’s Make it American™ Program, including Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance, for its Fairfield, Ohio, facility. The company also recently announced a $700 million investment in its U.S. operations to support domestic manufacturing amid growing demand from sectors such as data centers and utilities.

These DOE awards underscore Schneider Electric’s broader commitment to energy management innovation and U.S.-based production.
