The ROCA project of the German Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has provided Senegal with a significant consignment of equipment. Prof. Daouda GNOM, Minister for the Environment and Ecological Transition, presided over the official handover ceremony.
The consignment includes refrigerant recovery equipment, tools, and pressure and temperature measuring instruments. Ludovica Marangoni, representing GIZ, handed over the equipment to the Senegalese Minister. This equipment, supplied as part of the GIZ Refroidissement respectueux de l’Ozone et du Climat en Afrique de l’Ouest et Centrale (ROCA) project, is intended for training centres and associations of refrigeration technicians.
Authorities present at the ceremony included the Director of Environmental Regulation and Control, the coordinator of the National Ozone Programme, the Department of Vocational and Technical Training, and representatives from beneficiary institutions such as the College of Technical and Vocational Education of the University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar (ENSETP), the Technical and Vocational High School in Thiès, and refrigeration engineers' associations.
