SkillFRIDGE, the national student refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump competition has recently announced that it is enjoying its highest numbers of participants ever. Qualifying heats are currently taking place in colleges and training centres around the country with the last heat taking place in mid-July. The skill specific tests designed by RACHP industry experts will include fabrication, brazing pressure test and evacuation task, as well as a control wiring and testing task. The final incorporates RAC level 2 knowledge and practical tasks including charging and recovery of refrigerants to Fgas 2079 (cat 1) standards, plus elements of Level 3 RAC skills.
