The New Fantastic Fridges web site is now live and includes the Cool for School Competition

The IOR is proud to announce the relaunch of Fantastic Fridges – its dedicated web site designed to introduce young people to the practical science behind refrigeration technologies and help them to understand the contribution that refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumping makes to modern life. The web site also aims to showcase the great career opportunities our sector is currently offering to young people.

In addition to practical examples where refrigeration is needed, the web site features the Cool for School competition which aims to challenge KS3 students to explore the science, technology, engineering and mathematical principles that underlie refrigeration processes, and come up with a simple experiment or presentation to demonstrate one of these. Some fantastic prizes are up for grabs including £2,000 worth of science kit for your school packed with equipment and books for the winning team’s school.
