On 16 July 2019, a ceremony was held for the inauguration of the new CAREL plant in the SND district of Suzhou, China. Covering an area of 15,000 square metres, the new site is three times bigger than the old plant, located around three kilometres away.
The aim of new plant to boost production for the Chinese market and the Asia-Pacific region.

The cutting of the ribbon was attended by the company’s founders Luigi Nalini and Luigi Rossi Luciani and Group CEO Francesco Nalini, representatives of Suzhou New District, Wang Mo, Huang Feng and Simon Xie, and the Italian Consul in Shanghai Michele Cecchi, who personally opened the ceremony.

The new plant at the CAREL Electronic Suzhou subsidiary, established in 2005, has been created with the aim of strengthening production for the Chinese market and consolidating the Group’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the more than 15,000 square metres of the new complex, a significant area will be dedicated to Research & Development, the true excellence of CAREL Electronic Suzhou, which through its innovative laboratory will focus on the development of new technologies.

The approximately 50 personnel employed in Research & Development will contribute to making the new research centre a major hub of key competencies, useful for developing technologically-advanced solutions in line with the expectations of all CAREL customers in China and throughout the APAC region.

“When we built the first plant in 2005, we were convinced of the importance of investing in this market,” commented Francesco Nalini, Carel Group CEO during the ceremony. “Today, the inauguration of the new production plant in the Suzhou district confirms that we made the right decision in the past, and opens up great prospects for the future. The construction of this new site symbolises our dedication and continuous commitment to creating a centre of excellence in China and a point of reference for the whole of Asia”.
