Trane, a global leader in indoor comfort solutions, celebrates the 50th anniversary of its Charmes facility in France. This site has become a center for innovation in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technologies.
Since its establishment in 1974, the Charmes facility has been instrumental in producing energy-efficient chillers, heat pumps, and rooftop units for global markets. The facility spans over 100,000 square meters, with a focus on sustainability and efficiency, and manufactures over 6,000 units annually.
Committed to Trane Technologies' 2030 Sustainability Goals, the site reached zero waste to landfill in 2012 and has reduced water consumption by 63% since 2019. In 2022, the Charmes location installed an electrified Thermal Management System, leveraging advanced heat pump technology.
Christian Borel, operations leader for France at Trane, highlights the facility’s leadership in decarbonizing HVAC systems. "By linking cooling and heating systems, we can make buildings energy efficient and Net Positive," Borel states, emphasizing their push for sustainability.
The Charmes facility not only supports current demands but is also a hub for future HVAC innovations, ensuring products meet high standards of performance and reliability.
