Trane Technologies to Acquire 49% Stake in Germany’s Kieback&Peter

Trane Technologies has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 49% minority stake in Kieback&Peter Group, a German-based provider of building automation software and solutions. The deal supports Trane Technologies’ digital and controls strategy and aims to expand sustainable building offerings across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.

Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Berlin, Kieback&Peter specializes in intelligent building technologies, offering proprietary hardware, software, and energy management systems. The company employs over 1,700 people across 50 global locations and serves clients including governments, healthcare providers, and industrial operators.

The agreement includes an option for Trane Technologies to acquire full ownership after a three-year period. The partnership also features a commercialization agreement, allowing both companies to deliver complementary solutions to customers throughout the region.

Jose La Loggia, Group President – EMEA at Trane Technologies, stated: “By leveraging our scale and leading sustainable building solutions alongside Kieback&Peter’s advanced controls and building management systems, we will be uniquely positioned to accelerate climate innovation, reduce wasted energy and shape the future of intelligent buildings.”

The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, pending regulatory approval. Kieback&Peter will continue to operate independently under the leadership of Managing Partner Christoph Ritzkat.

“I am confident our work with Trane Technologies will help us build upon our legacy and drive long-term growth through expanded capabilities, offerings and customer-focused solutions,” said Christoph Ritzkat.
