Trane Technologies to acquire Stellar Energy Digital business in the US

Trane Technologies has signed an agreement to acquire the Stellar Energy Digital business from Stellar Energy International, Ltd. The deal aims to strengthen Trane’s position in data center thermal management solutions and accelerate growth in modular cooling technologies.

Stellar Energy, based in Jacksonville, Florida, provides turnkey liquid-to-chip cooling systems for data centers, as well as modular cooling plants, central utility plants, and coolant distribution units. The company employs around 700 people and operates two assembly facilities in Jacksonville.

With this acquisition, Trane Technologies intends to expand its capabilities in high-growth sectors by integrating Stellar Energy’s expertise in modular design and prefabricated cooling systems. The company plans to retain Stellar Energy’s brand and OEM-agnostic, direct-to-customer sales model within its Commercial HVAC Americas business unit.

“The data center ecosystem is growing rapidly and evolving toward more agile, sustainable solutions, which is where Stellar Energy excels,” said Karin De Bondt, Chief Strategy Officer at Trane Technologies.

Peter Gibson, Executive Chairman of Stellar Energy International, Ltd., added, “Transitioning the Digital business to Trane Technologies positions the business for significant growth and continued excellence.”

The transaction is expected to close in early 2026, pending regulatory approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
