Viessmann Launches Vitocal Heat Pumps for Residential and Light Commercial Use

Viessmann US has introduced two new lines of air-to-air heat pumps—Vitocal 100-S and Vitocal 200-S—designed to enhance energy efficiency and comfort in residential and light commercial settings. The release expands Viessmann’s U.S. product portfolio to meet growing demand for flexible, low-emission HVAC solutions amid the shift toward electrification.

Product Overview

The Vitocal 100-S is available in both ductless and ducted single-zone configurations. The ductless version supports quiet operation and inverter-driven technology for energy-efficient performance, even in extreme climates. With minimal installation requirements, it suits retrofits and new constructions where ductwork is absent or space is limited.

The ducted version of the Vitocal 100-S combines traditional HVAC compatibility with inverter efficiency. It supports reuse of existing infrastructure—such as refrigerant lines, ductwork, and thermostats—offering a streamlined installation process. The system’s compact design and quiet operation make it suitable for whole-home upgrades or new builds.

The Vitocal 200-S is a multi-zone ductless heat pump system capable of connecting up to five indoor units to one outdoor unit. Designed for larger residential or light commercial projects, it offers zoned comfort, high capacity, and energy efficiency through inverter-driven technology. The system includes an intuitive control interface to enhance ease of use and reliability.

Market Context

All systems in the new Vitocal line are designed to support energy-efficient electrification strategies while maintaining flexibility for various building types and climates. The use of inverter technology across the product range aims to reduce operational costs and improve year-round performance.

“Our mission is to drive innovation that supports the ever-changing demands of the industry,” said Ben Jewell, Head of Product and Engineer for North America at Viessmann. “These new products reflect our commitment to providing advanced, reliable, and energy-efficient solutions for contractors and homeowners. By offering superior performance, simplified installation, and long-term reliability, we continue to set new standards in heating and cooling technology.”

Conclusion

With the launch of the Vitocal 100-S and 200-S heat pump systems, Viessmann reinforces its position in the North American HVAC market by providing scalable, high-efficiency solutions suitable for a variety of applications in both residential and light commercial sectors.
