World Refrigeration Day (WRD) and AREA have announced the winners of the 3rd edition of the Women in Cooling Competition (WiCC25), an initiative aimed at promoting inclusion and diversity within the RACHP sector. The competition recognizes the achievements of European women through video submissions showcasing technical skills and system design in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump applications.
This year’s competition received 11 entries from across Europe and was evaluated by a panel of 12 judges. Submissions were grouped into two categories: Category A – RACHP Best Practice Mastery, and Category B – RACHP Design Excellence.
In Category A, first place was awarded to Chloe Jennings (United Kingdom), followed by Milena Boettcher (Germany) in second, and Millie Edwards (United Kingdom) in third. In Category B, the top prize went to the team of Hannah Romberg, Katharina Breuer, and Anna Halle (Germany), with Aleksandra Milic (Italy) and Araceli Pino (Spain) securing second and third place respectively.
First-place winners in both categories will each receive a €1,000 prize (approx. USD 1,080) and are invited to attend the 21st European Conference on “The Latest Technologies in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” at the Politecnico di Milano. AREA, through its member ATF, will cover travel, accommodation, and conference fees. Second-place winners will receive €500 (approx. USD 540), and all winners will receive commemorative plaques.
The winning and shortlisted videos are available on the AREA YouTube channel under the WiCC25 Playlist.
WRD and AREA extended congratulations to all winners and participants for their contributions to this year’s competition.
