Wolseley Group Opens First Renewables Centre for Installers in Shrewsbury

Wolseley Group has launched its first flagship Renewables Centre in Shrewsbury, aimed at supporting heating professionals entering the renewables market. The facility was officially opened during a Discovery Day attended by installers, suppliers, press, and industry representatives from across the UK.

The event featured guided tours, product demonstrations, and a Q&A session led by the centre’s experts. Chief Operating Officer Hancock cut the ribbon at the ceremony and stated: “A huge thank you to everyone for attending today’s event here in Shrewsbury... There is a demand for installers to really start ramping up installations of heat pumps over the coming years... I think we can play a key part in that and as a business be really proud that today as a start to really drive that change.”

The Shrewsbury site is the first of several planned across the UK, with Swansea expected to open next. Each location will function as a regional hub, offering accredited training, MCS-certified system design, technical support, and product access. Heating professionals can participate in fully funded Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) training under the Government’s Heat Training Grant. Courses are delivered in partnership with NAPIT and include national accreditation and practical experience.

The centre’s services include support for DNO approvals and Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) applications. Renewable Equipment Solutions (R.E.S), acquired by Wolseley Group, supports the initiative with expertise in technical design and commissioning.

Installers working with the Renewables Centre gain access to certified training, fast product supply, MCS-compliant system design, and ongoing business support.
