Frozen food processing machinery market to reach USD 33.48 billion by 2034

According to a report by Towards FnB, the global frozen food processing machinery market is projected to grow from USD 23.52 billion in 2025 to USD 33.48 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4%. The market is driven by rising demand for convenient, ready-to-eat frozen foods and increasing adoption of automation and advanced freezing technologies.

In 2024, North America held the largest market share at 35%, while the Asia Pacific region is expected to grow the fastest during the forecast period. Europe is also projected to see notable growth. By equipment type, freezing equipment led the market with a 34% share in 2024, and the automation and inspection systems segment is forecast to expand steadily from 2025 to 2034.

The meat, poultry, and seafood segment accounted for 33% of market revenue in 2024. The ready meals segment is anticipated to experience significant growth in the coming years. Among process types, Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) technology held a 29% market share in 2024, while cryogenic freezing is expected to grow steadily.

Semi-automated systems dominated the market in 2024 with a 42% share. Fully automated systems are projected to expand over the next decade due to benefits such as improved efficiency and reduced labor dependency. Food processing companies represented the largest end-use segment with a 46% share in 2024. The restaurants and foodservice chains segment is also expected to grow steadily.

Artificial intelligence and automation technologies are increasingly being used to enhance quality control, predictive maintenance, and efficiency in frozen food processing machinery. Advanced methods like cryogenic freezing and Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) are also contributing to product quality and extended shelf life.

In April 2025, Fujitsu Limited, Sonofai Inc., Ishida Tec Co., Ltd., and Tokai University launched an automated AI-powered device to non-destructively inspect fat content in frozen albacore tuna. In May 2025, Falcon Agrifriz Foods Private Limited inaugurated a frozen potato production facility in Kadi, Gujarat.

Major exporters of frozen food processing machinery include Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, the United States, and China, while key demand regions include Asia-Pacific, North America, and Europe. Turnkey project contracts and component-based imports shape trade dynamics, with after-sales support being a critical factor in supplier competitiveness.
