US heat exchanger market for commercial refrigeration reached close to USD 1.5 billion in 2019

BSRIA study on commercial refrigeration in the USA is providing quantitative and qualitative analysis on the market.

The currently available report is analysing condensers, evaporators and heat exchangers part of the market. Another module dedicated to compressors and condensing units will be published later in 2020.

The commercial refrigeration market analysed in the study embraces the cooling and refrigeration in supermarkets, convenience stores, pubs, clubs, hotels and small food processing. It does not cover the industrial refrigeration market, residential refrigeration market or the transport refrigeration market.

This study is recommended to all market stakeholders involved in the design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of commercial refrigeration including:
Equipment Manufacturers
  • Contractors
  • Distributors
  • Architects and Building Services Consultant
  • Facility Management organisations
Products covered on the heat exchanger side, include remote condensers, evaporators, and fluid to fluid exchangers.

The total heat exchanger market is estimated at USD 1.47 billion in 2019. Commercial condensers and Evaporator units are the main value holder in the market. Fluid to fluid heat exchangers represent a niche in terms of market value.

Even though the fluid-fluid heat exchanger market is still very small, it represents the fastest growing segment, with growth above the overall refrigeration industry growth level. This dynamic growth is attributed to the quickly growing popularity of display cases on water loop and cascade systems.

The overall market growth is fuelled by drivers such as the push for higher energy efficiency products and caps on HFC charges, a strong growth in demand for food services, as well as recent growth in adiabatic cooling and the uptake in aluminium plate heat exchangers. As market growth, the competition from overseas suppliers is increasing.

This report features market segmentation by product type, forecasts, refrigerant usage, installed base, distribution patterns, major players, applications and end user sectors.
